Applying Learning Technology and Innovation in Talent Development

The vigorous development of new technologies such as big data, AR/VR, and AI/ChatGPT has once again driven "learning technology" to become a hot topic of concern in the talent development industry. If talent development practitioners want to keep up with trends, it is crucial to improve productivity, reduce costs, attract employees, and encourage innovation by monitoring emerging trends and technologies.

According to 2023 ATD “Learning Technologies”, 72% of respondents stated that using learning technology is important to the strategies and goals of the organization; 83% of organizations indicate that using learning technologies can help improve employee engagement.

In another ATD research report titled "AI in Learning and Talent Development: Embracing Its Future Potential in the Workplace" released in the same year, ATD surveyed learning and talent development professionals from around the world, with 63% of respondents claiming that their biggest skills shortage is in AI and machine learning; 57% of respondents believe that "lack of AI-related skills and practical knowledge" is the main obstacle to their application of AI tools; only 41% of respondents believe that their team is ready or somewhat prepared to use AI.

Talent development executives not only need to provide cost-effective talent development solutions for organizations based on more accurate data and diverse information, but also need to lead the team to deeply grasp cutting-edge technologies and lead organizational change in the ever-changing industry environment.

ATD will collaborate with the award-winning company of the ATD Best Award in 2023, Wynn Macau, Limited, to jointly organize the ATD Macau Summit and ATD x Wynn Asia-Pacific CLO Forum.
